There are multiple ways to discourage possums from invading your space. A few ideas are to remove any food sources and don’t feed the possums. Prevent possums from getting into your trash and keep your pet’s food indoors. Keep food in secure compost containers. Clean barbecue grills and grease traps after you use them. Pick up fruit that drops from trees or bushes. Avoid laying out bird seed.
But let’s say you already have a possum problem. Here are some the reasons why you need to remove that possum.
Reason to have possums removed #1: Your nice warm crawl space with all of its insulation and seclusion provides the perfect home for these animals to live and breed. If they relocate their home to your crawl space, they can do a whole lot of damage in a short amount of time.
Reason to have possums removed #2: Considering that roughly 40% of the air you breathe comes directly from the crawl space, it is unhealthy to have this area of the home be contaminated by animals. You’ll want to make sure you address this health hazard immediately.
